April 2004: **Webometrics link analysis crisis**!
Link counting in AltaVista and AllTheWeb no longer work, since the buyout of both by Yahoo!.

Links between web sites can be counted in google, e.g.
+"www.goldsmiths.ac.uk/departments/computing/" -site:goldsmiths.ac.uk
But this only works for URLs that appear in the *text* of the page.

Does anyone have any better ideas for link counting to whole sites (not just the home page or specific individual URLs)?
